Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgery includes many diverse types of procedures, both cosmetic and reconstructive.

The purpose of cosmetic surgery is to improve the appearance of the patient by making changes to their physical attributes. The intent of reconstructive surgery is to improve or repair function, but it may also have the added benefit of improving appearance. Both types of surgery can help improve quality of life, comfort and self-confidence – truly emulating beauty from the inside out.

  • Carpal tunnel
Carpal tunnel syndrome causes pain, tingling and numbness in your hand from pressure on the median nerve. This surgery separates the transverse carpal ligament to relieve pressure on the median nerve in the wrist.
  • Ganglion Cyst
A ganglion cyst is the most common type of cyst that occurs on the hand and is often located on the back of the wrist. However, if they cause pain or impede function, they can be surgically removed.
  • Tendon Repair
A tendon is the soft tissue that connects muscle to bone. Sometimes tendons can become torn or damaged due to injury. Tendon repair surgery is done by creating a small incision above the tendon, sewing the torn tendon back together and then closing the incision.
  • Trigger finger
Trigger finger occurs when inflammation narrows the space within the sheath that surrounds the tendon in the affected finger. If trigger finger is severe, your finger may become locked in a bent position. Surgery to correct trigger finger widens the joint tunnel to repair the tendon.
